Choosing the right specialty adhesive/sealant

Concrete cracks and structural repair. A structural concrete repair compound for concrete-to-concrete repairs, or a fast-acting waterproof repair compound where an active leak needs to be stopped within minutes.

Fast repair mortar work. A fast-cure repair mortar, which reaches high strength within minutes and can be applied and cured underwater.

Mirror and glass fixing. An MS Polymer mirror adhesive suited to silver and vinyl-backed mirror systems without solvent-related degradation risk.

High-volume panel and laminate bonding. Contact adhesive sprays supplied in large format pressurised bottles and 20-litre containers for workshop and trade-scale application.

Small, fast structural bonds. A fast-setting adhesive for mitre joints and small components needing a strong bond within seconds, or a quick-cure epoxy for a clear two-part repair.

Speciality adhesive and sealant application guidance

Match the product to the substrate condition first, since several products in this range are specifically formulated for damp or underwater application where standard adhesives would fail. Fast-curing adhesives and epoxies need components measured and mixed accurately, and applied within their working time. Some contact adhesive sprays require both surfaces to be coated and allowed to reach the correct tack before bonding, following the open time on the datasheet. Concrete repair compounds should have loose material removed and the area dampened where specified, to maximise bond strength.
