TRADE PROFESSIONAL EXPANDING FOAM SOLUTIONS

Soudal offers the largest range of trade foams in New Zealand and is the largest manufacturer of polyurethane expanding foams globally, producing 130 million cans last year alone.

That means there’s a solution at your fingertips to tackle every situation – whether you need high thermal and acoustic insulation, fire rated foam, or a low VOC healthy home product, all with excellent adhesion. You can trust Soudal will have the right trade professional solution available for your next building project.

High-thermal & acoustic solutions

Our foam range provides thermal and acoustic insulation, which enhances comfort, energy efficiency, and overall well-being in residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. It also helps to protect a building’s structure by reducing the risk of condensation, which can cause mould growth and structural damage over time. These factors contribute to cost savings, environmental sustainability, and improved quality of life.

Applications:

  • Use for mounting and sealing of windows and doorframes
  • Filling of cavities around pipes and roof cavities.

Features & Benefits

  • Environmental impact: reducing energy consumption
  • Building structure: warmer, drier healthier home
  • Noise reduction: transmission of sound between rooms or from outside the building

Fire-Rated Solutions

Our fire-rated foams last up to 240 minutes when applied in accordance with testing data and are available in both click-and-fix and aerosol formats. They provide an efficient seal to slow the spread of smoke and gas and form a high-strength bond to most substrates. Once cured, they will not shrink or expand, and the foam can be painted over once set.

Applications:

  • Required when specified by fire engineers, required in many builds to meet building code requirements e.g. government builds and homes that have shared walls (party walls).

Features & Benefits

  • Fire retardant for up to 240 minutes
  • Creates a seal that slows the spread of smoke and gas
  • High thermal and acoustic insulation

Flexible Solutions

Flexi foam maintains its insulation value and adhesion while allowing for structural movement. It’s great for use on joints that may experience movement or vibrations, such as sealing windows and doorframes, as it helps dampen the shock. It’s also great for filling cavities, creating soundproof layers (the acoustic rating is 60dB), and improving thermal insulation on heating/cooling systems.

Applications

  • Filling cavities around windows and doors—these are often slammed, which can break down cured foam over time.
  • Having flexible shock-absorbing foam creates a lasting insulation seal.

Features & Benefits

  • Very high elastic recovery
  • Good compressibility
  • Insulates against noise, cold and draughts

Low VOC Solutions

Soudal has developed the first isocyanate-free expanding foam in the world if a low VOC green build solution is required to meet healthy home standards. It uses a moisture-curing system and performs best on moderately wet, porous surfaces such as wood, concrete and stone. On non-porous surfaces, the best performance is achieved when the surface is almost dry and when the joint/cavity is less than 7.5cm deep.

Applications

  • Works on both porous and non-porous substrates
  • Filling cavities, mounting and sealing of windows and doorframes
  • Creation of a soundproof screen

Features & Benefits

  • Low VOC
  • Green build certified, meets healthy home standards
  • MS-based technology
  • Moisture curing system
  • High thermal and acoustical insulation
  • Excellent stability (no shrink or post-expansion)
  • Excellent flow control
