Featuring Soudal’s unique Duravalve system is activated only when the Soudal foam gun and foam can are used together. This innovative system prevents gas loss and reduces product waste.
Excellent adhesion on most substrates. Use for mounting and sealing of windows and doorframes, filling of cavities around pipes, connecting of insulation materials and roof constructions, and application of soundproofing layers on motors. Product can improve thermal and acoustic insulation in cooling systems, adhering to many porous substrates e.g. concrete, wallboard, particle board, flooring and timber. Pest and draught proofing. Can be cut, sanded, plastered, or covered with sealant once cured.
Once you’ve finished your project, maintenance is essential. You should use the Soudal Expanding Foam Cleaner Gun Grade to flush the gun and keep it in top working condition. If you need a different format, you can view our full expanding foam range.

Why Choose Soudal Pro Expanding Foam Gun Grade?
Choosing the right insulation for your project is about more than just filling a gap. Our formula is engineered for New Zealand’s unique building conditions, offering professional-grade reliability for any project.
-
Innovative Duravalve System: Most foam cans lose gas over time once opened. Our unique Duravalve technology prevents gas loss and blockages. This means your foam remains usable for longer, significantly reducing product waste.
-
Precision Control: Unlike hand-held cans that can be messy, this gun-grade formula allows for pin-point accuracy. When paired with a professional applicator, you can control the flow rate to fill narrow cavities without overflow.
-
Verified Performance: With a BRANZ Appraisal, you have the peace of mind that this product meets the rigorous standards of the NZ Building Code. It provides a consistent, high-yield seal that improves the energy efficiency of any home.
-
Versatile Bonding: Whether you’re working with timber, concrete, or particle board, this foam creates an airtight bond. It’s the ideal solution for soundproofing motors, insulating cooling systems, or simply draught-proofing a renovation.

FAQs
How long does expanding foam take to dry?
Soudal Pro Expanding Foam is typically tack-free within 10 minutes. You can usually cut or sand it after one hour. Full curing takes approximately 24 hours depending on the humidity and temperature of your work area.
Can you paint or plaster over expanding foam?
Yes, you can paint, plaster, or apply sealant over this foam once it’s cured. It’s a good idea to cover it if the foam is exposed to sunlight. Polyurethane foam can degrade over time when it’s left in direct UV light.
Why should I use gun grade foam instead of a hand-held can?
Gun grade foam is the professional choice because it offers much better accuracy. The trigger on the foam gun allows you to adjust the pressure. You’ll waste less product and get a much cleaner finish in tight gaps.
Is expanding foam waterproof once it's cured?
Cured polyurethane foam is highly water-resistant and acts as a great barrier against moisture. However, it shouldn’t be used as a primary waterproofing membrane in areas with constant standing water. It’s excellent for sealing gaps around pipes to prevent water ingress.
